Janet Naidenova, Chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian E-commerce Association, expressed her enthusiasm about joining Ecommerce Europe. “Becoming a member of Ecommerce Europe is a crucial step for the Bulgarian e-commerce market. This membership grants us access to the European e-commerce landscape and is a necessary and natural step to support Bulgarian online merchants and the growth of the e-commerce environment. Committed to promoting the growth of the e-commerce sector
The mission of the Bulgarian E-commerce Association is to be a strong voice for the e-commerce sector in Bulgaria. To achieve this, the Bulgarian E-commerce Association has set up initiatives to build consumer confidence in e-commerce, create and validate professional and ethical customer service standards, improve the efficiency of logistics services and improve protection and security in online shopping and payments. To achieve this, it plans to implement a national and European Trustmark scheme.
A fast-growing e-commerce market in Europe
Bulgaria is an important emerging market in the e-commerce sector, with a rapid growth rate of 10-17% in 2015. The share of Bulgarians buying goods and/or services online exceeds 20% with 2.4 million shopping online. With a population share shopping online expected to increase to almost 60% by 2021, the Bulgarian e-commerce market is one of fastest-growing market in Europe.
